After reading the text of Russel and my experience thus far in my educational pursuit starting at the elementary level and advancing to both undergraduate and Graduate courses I would say that there is no substantial or progressive WAC in place that to assist students prior to such educational continuation once they go from elementary to high school to focus on the skillsets of writing and becoming more refined in that area based on their life experiences to take account of. There will have to be both a need and a push from students, faculty, universities to provide such discipline of writing and to make sure that there is some kind of continuation that can be built upon as the student progresses with limited gaps. Further students to be able to freely compose their writing and build their academic skills based on their own personal ambitious and particular style and creativity involved should not have it watered down or changed because of the structure does not align with their abilities or having to follow along the way with cross disciplines related to writing sometimes facing gaps in the process. Graded assignments that might reflect the students’ personal style or ability to follow directions might not always be beneficial to all students’ expectations. Then there are also students who have taken a particular discipline and to continue in that they may be deterred for various reasons if universities are lacking a known WAC
